RTE”s Studio 4 will be bursting at the seams as 236 performers come together to raise awareness for the Aidlink For Turkana which takes place in The National Stadium on Saturday Nov 2nd in aid of Aidlink.ie
The money raised will be going to the Turkana region of Kenya- a vast, dry desert in the north-west of Kenya that is on the frontline of climate change.
This massive gig involves work, community and school choirs coming together with Ireland’s finest singers to take their songs to a whole new level.
What better way to publicise this than to bring all of the choirs together with amazing singer songwriters to sing one of the greatest Irish songs ever written - Heyday by Mic Christopher.
On the Ray Darcy show Jerry Fish, Eleanor McEvoy, The Pale, Blaithin Carney, Cry Monster Cry, Davy Lyons, Dermot Lambert, Ailbhe Reddy, Muireann McDonnell, Perris Kandie Mootian, Alice Jago, Aoife Carton and Ann Scott will sing Heyday backed by a 220 strong choir led by Maria Stanley and made up of singers from Bank Of Ireland Bank Notes , Blackrock College Libermann Choir, Central Bank Notes, Eirgrid- Transmission Amps, EY Choir, Loreto Beaufort, Loreto Dalkey Past Pupils Parents Choir, Mezzo Choir, Primark, SOLAS, Songs in the Key of D, St. Joseph’s, St Mary's College Singers, The Daydreamers Kids Choir and the Wicklow Community Choir.
